So…ye…this was meant to be my first year moving into wedding photography! So far, I have to say, it hasn’t gone to plan!
Over the years I’ve done pretty much every type of photography. I started doing some product photography, then got into landscape photography, jumped into a lot of equine work and now love lifestyle and portraiture to add to the mix. My wife, who ran a shop, had a tendency to want new photos…and to go out straight away and do a shoot! Thankfully I love a bit of pressure, adapting to changing environments is a lot of fun!
After years of doing photography as a hobby and for the shop, I was asked if I would be willing to shoot a friends wedding! I have to be honest I had never considered doing wedding photography…but the more I thought about it, the more excited I got!! After doing wedding photography training days and shoots I knew I had found a passion.
So, after deciding to really go for it, I got everything set up and ready to go….then 2020 happened! With various crazy storms washing out shoots followed by the virus, I have to admit my first year isn’t quite going to plan! With a few weddings booked in for over the next 18 months I guess it was all going a bit too well!
Having planned my own wedding a few years ago (I’m not going to say how many just in case I get it wrong and my wife reads this!), I know how stressful it can be at the best of times…never mind how hard it is now. I can’t imagine the feeling of postponing your special day, but I promise you will get your day! You will get the day you planned and it will be amazing!
I truly hope that the photographer you wanted is still available for you, but if not don’t worry, I promise there are plenty of new photographers out there ready to capture everything! So if fancy a chat don’t hesitate to get in touch and I will help in any way I can to make sure you get the day of your dreams!
Stay safe & don't forget to smile,
